Do not use this company. We had the roof done in 2010. We were extremely unhappy at the time as the crew that were on the project were unreliable, and on their first job. The “supervisor” to whom we were introduced quit that week, and at no time did any other supervisor visit the site. It took significantly longer than was projected due to inconsistent staff who would often just not turn up. Use this company at your peril and possibly risk of your home and life. Literally the worst company in the world. Have spent 3.5 YEARS trying to get their dodgy work remedied - which we a forced to do because of builders warranty. Original work had to be revisited FIVE times, turned out not to be up to code or meet the building drawings, and then we had a fire in the house because the (new build) roof ended up full of water and blew up our electrics. It's taken 3.5 years (and counting)
"Use these guys at your own risk!!! I had terrible trouble right through with these roofers. It took 7 weeks for a 4 day job replacing my roof, during this time they fell through my eaves twice and my ceiling twice. They also had to re replace 50 sheets of long run iron as they dented all the sheets they had already replaced. The ends were uneven and not turned down, the gutters were shockingly fitted and had to be replaced and mess to our yard with screws and cut tin etc was just a joke,
A 3-4 day re-roof job took 2.5 months to complete. It was stop then start throughout the job and I was often not informed of when they would be coming back. They also started a few weeks later than they said they would. A subcontractor (Harley, Ace of Trades)was used, which I wasn't informed of until he turned up on site. Due to the problems on my job I believe he no longer works for Cowperthwaites. He didn't seem to know what he was doing, and didn't anticipate potential problems with the
Seems to be a reincarnation of original firm Cowperthwaite Ltd (in receivership), but they appear to be trading under the Cowperthwaite name and sub-contracting the work out. Paid 50% deposit March 08. Job finally finished Sept. Took a long time to start & after no contact had to ring several times to get a start date (would have been very nervous had I known then about the recent receivership). When it finally happened the roof installation took only 2-3 days but it immediately leaked

Ross appeared on time, tried to sort a tricky leaks and came back to sort when the leak occurred again - the reoccurence wasn't his fault as we have a dodgy roofing system, but he didn't charge anymore for the repeat call which was great. When he finished the job, he spent time to tell my wife exactly what happened and how he sorted it. We continue to recommend Cowperthwaites to friends.
Good to deal with Des is a very fair person who works with clients to solve their tricky issues!
