Was only on time to do this job.Would not recommend his services for any other work at all as ours turned out to be a a total mess in regards to resurfacing work done by Ajay.

Nick

I could write a story like everyone else on here but my story is very similar so I won't. DO NOT EVER USE THIS MAN. He is not a tradesman, he is a conman. It is just endless, he cannot be relied upon, communicated with or produce even vaguely acceptable work.

DO NOT USE !!!!! I paid Ajay initially a part payment. He came over and started work. Same as all the other stories. I will elaborate when I calm down, but in total he took almost 3000, including a van in part payment, to do drainage work (have since had someone else totally re do it), and to concrete a large area (which he ripped out all the bricks leaving a TOTAL mess, and also was meant to seal the side of the house. He would turn up and 'potter', and state there had been a delay,

A total nightmare to deal with this guy.Takes advance payment and only deals with cash then when he says will show up 95% of the time he doesn't and have had to call him up repeatedly to get hold of him. Had to get legal advise and the police as this guy resorted to threats to extort more money out of us for work already paid for. Now we left with all cement splash marks everywhere plus the resurface work which is pealing off already within weeks. We left with unfinished work which we have to

I again used Ajay for more out door works on my rental property in Devonport. sadly this second experience was entirely different from the first. I have to report the job is still left uncompleted in spite of Ajay insisting on being paid before completion. I have phoned and text-ed urging completion but my calls and texts only result in more false promises. if i could withdraw my first recommendation I would and would advise others to stay well clear after reading other customers comments,

Ajay was given the job of repaving our driveway as he gave us the most competitive price. Unfortunately, communication broke down regarding payment. We were under the impression that he would be paid the balance on completion of a 3 day job. Instead, he would ask for CASH for every step of the job from rubbish tip cost to concrete. After 2 stressful weeks of 'negotiation', he eventually completed the driveway which is a bit rough but at least it's done. Lesson learnt: You get what you

Update: Aj returned to site and poured more concrete around the posts and re aligned some of the fence palings that had too much of a gap and strengthened the posts as requested by the other party that is sharing the cost. However they are still stating it is not up to standard and a few more things need to be done. So another meeting date is being set for Aj myself and the inspector for the remaining remedial work that is required to ensure all parties are satisfied. Ajay started off

We gave Ajay Patel all the time of over a month, trusted him with money whenever he wanted on compassionate consideration, most occasions at about 8 pm, with his family members or work mates waiting outside our home, citing, needs money to pay wages or family member is sick. Three rescheduling by Ajay and a month of delay have failed to complete the job that was scheduled in writing as 5 working days. All the work including additions were written with additional charges for material and labour

What to check before you hire

Worth checking yourself
Always confirm credentials and quotes with the business directly before hiring.
Get an itemised quote that separates plants and materials, any machinery or skip hire, and labour. A vague 'garden makeover' lump sum hides where the money goes and makes extra charges easy to add later.
Be wary of paying a large sum up front 'for materials'. Agree staged payments against work you can see completed, especially for hard landscaping like patios, decking, paving or driveways.
Tree work and anything near a boundary can be regulated. Protected trees and conservation areas often need permission, and removing a protected tree can be an offence. Confirm what is allowed, and that they carry public-liability insurance, before work starts.
