Kat

My house was first scheduled to be painted by the Painting Project Ltd. on March 15th, 2021. I was advised this would take about two weeks to complete and that this would be done by their ‘team’ whom I assumed were qualified/knowledgable professionals. This was not the case when only one person was assigned (two were itemised in the quote I received). The work was on and off for 2-3 days and then ceased altogether when the contractor’s employee failed to turn up. When I advised the

The Painting Project only ever completed 95% of our job and their communication was terrible for the duration of the project, which was delayed many times. We had no problems in the early days - getting Fia around to look at the place and give a quote. He and Kate were enthusiastic and proactive right up until work actually started. This was paid and the games began. I spent the 6 months chasing Kate and Fia regarding this job before they eventually admitted they would not be able to do the job and would give me a refund. The cancellation of the job was confirmed at the beginning of February and I was eventually paid the first

Previous negative review (which I wish we’d found) Is textbook the experience we had this year with Phoenix Paintomg aka The Painting Project NZ. Paid a significant deposit for the job to start early March, after a series of no shows/some young kid turning up for a few hours to do a poor job (cans ditched behind our shed/flakes throughout the property/use of items from our property without permission) we knew these guys weren’t up for the job. After a series of emails with Kate Mc Kerrow

The Painting Project NZ, also known as Phoenix Painting Project Limited, is a farce of a business. If it is any indicator of their quality, they have disabled reviews and recommendations on their Facebook page so potential customers can't be educated on the massive negatives of trying to do business with them. On June 22nd 2019, I hired Phoenix Painting Project Ltd (trading as The Painting Project Ltd) to paint two bedrooms, a hallway/stairwell, and lounge/kitchen area in the apartment I am

In New Zealand, restricted building work must be carried out or supervised by a Licensed Building Practitioner, and all electrical, plumbing, gasfitting and drainlaying by a licensed tradesperson (EWRB for electricians, PGDB for plumbers and gasfitters) — check the public register before you hire.
For residential building work of $30,000 or more you are legally entitled to a written contract and a disclosure statement setting out the trader's skills, licences and insurance — ask for both before work starts.
Look for consistent reviews across several named sources, not one polished profile.
