Do not engage These are labourers trying to be contractors. They came in, laid on a good sales pitch, “pride in their work” and all. They then proceeded to deliver low quality, with little attention to very basic details, and little care for their clients’ wishes or house style, then left to other trades to fix. They care only about getting paid! Even in the face of all those defects. When called out after several major defects, they then have the gall to call you difficult to deal
