Highlights

All of the guys from Jarvis and Lowndes are fantastic. 100% reliable and their work is always top quality. They have been to my home on a number of occasions for both small and large electrical jobs and have always been a pleasure to have onsite - they are reliable and friendly. Communication is tops and I would highly recommend them for any electrical work. No need to look beyond this company in my opinion

Did a rewire for me. Great job. Kept it tidy. Did work so I had functioning home overnight (it was relatively big project). Would certainly recommend. They knew their stuff too which helped the work to go smoothly.

Jarvis & Lowndes are legends! We had power go out to a portion of our house - the portion that affected our infinity hot water so no hot baths for the kids. I rang our power company who sent a man out some time later, then he did what I did, flick the switches in the fusebox outside and shrug his shoulders. So I called Jarvis & Lowndes who diagnosed the problem over the phone (a particular and seemingly unrelated switch needing to be reset in the bathroom) and the problem was solved.

I was looking for a electrician to replace a security sensor light and a circuit breaker at my home.I bought a replacement sensor light from Mitre 10 , brand" Orbit" with a very high rating for the product. Jarvis & Lowndes were engaged to carry out the job. On the day Chris Johnson ,a registered electrician arrived and replaced sensor light. I noticed that sensor was activated very early by evening even being not dark. Called them back to come and adjust the issues.Chris

I called these guys as they were local to the job site. I was given a fast first inspection and assessment, then asked for an immediate start. A crew was on-site within a few days, and extensive work done on an older wooden house. J&L removed / replaced all the older rubber wiring, replaced older style fuse board with RCD's, moved the house meter, and issued a Code Compliance. Work was performed to my satisfaction. I added scope on several occasions, and was accommodated. Crew were

Electrical work in New Zealand must be carried out by a registered electrical worker. Confirm they are registered and hold a current practising licence on the Electrical Workers Registration Board public register before you hire.

Check the EWRB register
In New Zealand, restricted building work must be carried out or supervised by a Licensed Building Practitioner, and all electrical, plumbing, gasfitting and drainlaying by a licensed tradesperson (EWRB for electricians, PGDB for plumbers and gasfitters). Check the public register before you hire.
For residential building work of $30,000 or more you are legally entitled to a written contract and a disclosure statement setting out the tradesperson's skills, licences and insurance. Ask for both before work starts.
Look for consistent reviews across several named sources, not one polished profile.
