Highlights

Very happy customer. Cain was great to deal with and quality of the work was of a very high standard. Would totally recommend Hard Wired Electrical

JohnNoCowboys5.0 rating

I would have no hesitation in recommending Hard Wired Electrical. Cain is great to deal with and did a great job (even helped me lift a heavy old clothes drier into a skip as I was cleaning out my garage). Totally beyond the call of duty!

MaryNoCowboys5.0 rating

The electrician who worked on the job, Chris, was competent and efficient, and also personable and pleasant - it was good to have him in the house.

Glenn

The worst kind of cowboy outfit. Shoddy work - technically incompetent in the most basic of wiring and then refuses to fix the issue. I've spoken directly in person, left phone messages and texts with zero response - I'm bloody disappointed !

Cain was very pleasant to deal with, offered to do a quote on another system I showed him, explained patiently, very reasonable rate, did not not charge callout, service or travel fees.

Cain and the team at Hard Wired are a pleasure to deal with. Proactive in communicating with us regarding job timing and requirements. Would not hesitate to recommend Cain's professionalism and work to anyone looking for an electrician.

What to check before you hire

Worth checking yourself
Always confirm credentials and quotes with the business directly before hiring.
Verify at the sourceCheck them yourself

Electrical work in New Zealand must be carried out by a registered electrical worker. Confirm they are registered and hold a current practising licence on the Electrical Workers Registration Board public register before you hire.

Check the EWRB register
In New Zealand, restricted building work must be carried out or supervised by a Licensed Building Practitioner, and all electrical, plumbing, gasfitting and drainlaying by a licensed tradesperson (EWRB for electricians, PGDB for plumbers and gasfitters). Check the public register before you hire.
For residential building work of $30,000 or more you are legally entitled to a written contract and a disclosure statement setting out the tradesperson's skills, licences and insurance. Ask for both before work starts.
Look for consistent reviews across several named sources, not one polished profile.
