Highlights

We have been utilizing Empire Electrical for a number of years and have never been disappointed. Craig and Oliver's service, reliabillity and knowledge are outstanding. The pricing is very fair, the company is ethical and honest and will always respond when you require them. For critical matters he will make it happen and get somebody there to get you out of tight spot. Empire Electrical would be the most reliable contractor on our site bar none.

"Wow, I called with a fault, and someone was there super fast. The phone manner was polite and professional. The technician was friendly, well presented and professional. The fault was found quickly, and then isolated so we could continue to have power and I was advised on my options. You guys have taken the trades to a new level! Thanks heaps, for living up to your reputation, you'll always my first & only call.

What to check before you hire

Worth checking yourself
Always confirm credentials and quotes with the business directly before hiring.

Electrical work in New Zealand must be carried out by a registered electrical worker. Confirm they are registered and hold a current practising licence on the Electrical Workers Registration Board public register before you hire.

Check the EWRB register
In New Zealand, restricted building work must be carried out or supervised by a Licensed Building Practitioner, and all electrical, plumbing, gasfitting and drainlaying by a licensed tradesperson (EWRB for electricians, PGDB for plumbers and gasfitters). Check the public register before you hire.
For residential building work of $30,000 or more you are legally entitled to a written contract and a disclosure statement setting out the tradesperson's skills, licences and insurance. Ask for both before work starts.
Look for consistent reviews across several named sources, not one polished profile.
