Highlights

This is a brief record detailing Building Elements professionalism and commitment to resolving issues for their customers. We engaged Paul and the team back in 2009 to complete an extension of our property. The work completed back then was great and I rated it accordingly at the time. In mid-2010 I noticed lines appearing in the ceiling. I notified Paul pretty soon after and he was really responsive and supportive. For timing reasons we decided to leave the ceiling repair until a

BenNoCowboys5.0 rating

The ratings I have given the Building Elements team may seem high but I believe they are justified. Paul and his team were punctual, polite, well presented and they produced a quality product. Paul ran the project professionally and kept us informed at each stage and where appropriate gave his insights and guidance when problems arose. Paul and his team have revived my faith in the building industry and I would have no hesitation in recommending Building Elements to others.

We employed Building Elements to do a substantial renovation on our 1930's bungalow which included new living areas, kitchen, bathrooms and decking. Paul and his team were fantastic to work with. They have a strict attention to detail and did an excellent job on our bungalow renovation. We had an earlier smaller job done by Building Elements and they did a very good job (see rating by Abby on this site), so we asked them to do our next larger job. This mostly involved fixing up the weatherboards on our old villa, many of which were rotten, but also involved some drainage work, some deck repairs, and they also helped with some internal work as well. We found them very reliable, helpful and professional, and communicated much better than most other tradespeople we've been in

Paul and his team did an excellent job covering our deck. Very reliable, on time and cleaned up at the end of each day (important if you have kids). I will not have a problem recommending him to friends and family or using him again. Great job thanks guys!!

The job was done professionally, to time and budget. Communication was excellent. Other tradesmen sourced on my behalf were also excellent. Building Elements also took excellent care of my home, with minimal noise, dust and no damage. Thanks very much for a smooth renovation.

Restricted building work in New Zealand must be carried out or supervised by a Licensed Building Practitioner. Confirm they hold a current LBP licence - and check their licence class and any disciplinary history - on the LBP public register before you hire.

Check the LBP register
Never pay a large deposit up front. Agree a staged payment schedule tied to completed milestones, and hold a small retention until snagging is done.
Get it in writing: an itemised quote with scope, materials, start and finish dates, and how any changes (variations) will be priced.
Be wary of a cash-only price or pressure to start tomorrow. Both are red flags for an unaccountable job.
