## In customers' own words
_Verbatim quotes from this tradesperson's public reviews, each attributed to its source:_
> "All of the guys from Jarvis and Lowndes are fantastic. 100% reliable and their work is always top quality. They have been to my home on a number of occasions for both small and large electrical jobs and have always been a pleasure to have onsite - they are reliable and friendly. Communication is tops and I would highly recommend them for any electrical work. No need to look beyond this company in my opinion"

> "Did a rewire for me. Great job. Kept it tidy. Did work so I had functioning home overnight (it was relatively big project). Would certainly recommend. They knew their stuff too which helped the work to go smoothly."

> "Jarvis & Lowndes are legends! We had power go out to a portion of our house - the portion that affected our infinity hot water so no hot baths for the kids. I rang our power company who sent a man out some time later, then he did what I did, flick the switches in the fusebox outside and shrug his shoulders. So I called Jarvis & Lowndes who diagnosed the problem over the phone (a particular and seemingly unrelated switch needing to be reset in the bathroom) and the problem was solved."

## Before you hire an electrician
_What to check when choosing this kind of trade (general guidance, not a claim about this business):_
- In New Zealand, restricted building work must be carried out or supervised by a Licensed Building Practitioner, and all electrical, plumbing, gasfitting and drainlaying by a licensed tradesperson (EWRB for electricians, PGDB for plumbers and gasfitters). Check the public register before you hire.
- For residential building work of $30,000 or more you are legally entitled to a written contract and a disclosure statement setting out the tradesperson's skills, licences and insurance. Ask for both before work starts.
- Look for consistent reviews across several named sources, not one polished profile.
- Check any credential evidence, and that the business details independently check out.
- Get a written quote and keep guarantee, insurance and payment terms in writing.
